Day long fun-filled festivities marked Udyavarites Decennial Year celebration held at Tantra Club in Karama Hotel this Friday.
Udyavarites and well wishers gathered to commemorate the glorious togetherness of the association in large numbers. The programme which began with welcome dance to the tune of "Deva Tum Zavn Asai Mog" was performed by talented little ones Andria, Samantha, Danica, Bettina and Anora.
Joe Pinto read the word of God followed by a hymn for patron St. Francis Xavier by little ones Andrea, Natasha, Jevica, Sarah and Abel. Joshita, Delvina and Cema gave a brilliant dance fusion performance to popular tunes.
In a brief stage programme, President Vivian D'Silva welcomed the gathering and thanked all those who contributed for the success of the association from its very inception. He specially lauded the continued support rendered by valuable sponsors ever since the existence of the association.
Udyavarites Secretary Joachim D'Souza gave a brief on the various charitable works carried out during the past 10 years which accounted to approximate IRs. 25 Lakhs. All the sponsors were called on the dais and given flower bouquets as a token of appreciation.
Joachim, Robert, Gilbert, Donny and Antony presented some hilarious skits. The special attraction of the event was "Alli Milli" dance performed by the daghter-in-laws of Udyavarites Veena, Albina, Sarita, Jyothi, Lavina and Agnes, which received a thunderous applaud.
Numerous prizes were given away for the winners of spot games on regular intervals. Master Compere Roshan did a fantastic job of handling the entire event with sophistication and ease.
In the afternoon session, the programme began with melodious carol singing by Abel, Jevica, Andrea, Prajwal, Sarah, Natasha, Anora, Eathan and Elisha. Santa Clause gave away numerous gifts to all the children which recreated a wonderful atmosphere of Christmas.
Joachim conducted an American Auction as a fund raising event with the help of committee members. He further carried out Housie Calling followed by Raffle conducted by M.C. Roshan, Donald Machado and Antony D’Silva.
The highlight of the event was a hilarious comedy "Mog Kela Tor Bhem Kiteak?" scripted by Robert Fernandes, Udyavar enacted by experienced actors of the association.
Rakesh Fernandes gave vote of thanks and the programme ended with everyone joining for the grand baila.
